I've had hand eczema for about 3 months now and I'm just sick and tired of it. Ive tried ointment, moisturizers, hydrocortizones..etc. but none of them work. And now my eczema is spreading, leaving leathery dry skin. I have an appointment with the doctors tomorrow (first time) but it's costing me 600-800 dollars..which something I cannot afford and my insurance wont pay for it but my mom is encouraging me to go. Do you think the doctor would be able to help me??? He told me he's going to run tests and such but I dont want to pay that much money if it's not going to cure/treat it. I just want a guarantee that it will go away. Is there anyone out there with eczema who have gone to the doctor was cured??? I really want my old normal skin back.hrm. I think the tests are to see what I'm allergic to. Because something must have triggered my eczema and I need to avoid it so it won't flare up. But I really like the answers I've received so far. My scalp has been extremely itchy ever since the weather started to get colder (I have eczema!). It even peels when I itch it and flakes of skin fall out everywhere. My mom bought me a special shampoo that's supposed to help cure this condition but so far I've had no luck.
