Resolved Question: Your opinion on the 'Recession Question'?

You all must have seen the Yahoo Answers Question on Recession and Governments. Can the Governments of various nations ever do anything to stop this??? We have developed countries like US,UK etc doling out loads of taxpayer's money to the order of billions, just to save some major bank or company. DOES THIS REALLY HELP AT ALL ??? A person whose kidneys have completely failed can be made to live for 5 or even 10 years by frequent dialysis. But ultimately the Person WILL die. Unless until healthy kidneys are not transplanted into the body, the person continues to remain on the verge of dying out. This is analogous to the Recession situation. By just performing 'Dialysis' by pumping money into a financial institution, Governments are just keeping alive the economic system. The economy is on the verge of breaking down completely. The only way to save it is by removing and completely revolutionizing the present economic system. Stop this capitalism. If we can't improve, it's i think better to just become Communists. [ Look at China. Still shining!! ] " The developed countries are the one's responsible for ushering in poverty into the world. " Comment. You may agree or object to my views. :) more

Resolved Question: What would you give to save the life of a loved one...?

A five-year-old girl is thought to be the first in the UK to receive organ transplants from both her parents. Jasmine Mirza is recovering after being given 30% of her father Sohrab's liver and one of her mother Cathie Locke's kidneys. Jasmine was diagnosed with liver failure at seven months before her kidneys started to fail in 2007. Ms Locke, from Farnborough, Hampshire, said the transplants have given Jasmine "her life back". "For me, I wasn't worried about the operation side of things," she added. "Through all this Jasmine's health has been the main priority. What a beautiful story. I hope the little girl makes a full recovery and starts a new life without dialysis. As for me, i'd do the same if needed for one of mine. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/berkshire/7954980.stmsgtcjl ~ the question is 'what would you give to save the life of a loved one', the words are a paste from the link, not all but most!!..I know how to ask questions and there is no chatting involved apart from now ooops!! more

Resolved Question: Why doesn't Bin Laden just hide in his cave and get lost?!?

He's so cowardly broadcasting his videos whilst in hiding. He's urging Muslims to wage Jihad - I don't see him emerging from under his rock to help his 'cause'. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090316/twl-bin-laden-slams-gaza-holocaust-41f21e0.html He's supposed to be on kidney dialysis anyway, so some medical team must be helping him.Perhaps if he spouted his hatred on YA he'd feel better. He'd be reported of course... more

Resolved Question: Ghanian woman - deported to her death.?

A woman from ghana had come to the uk on an educational visa - which has now expired. In the UK she was receiving kidney dialysis three times a week from the NHS, because she has terminal cancer which has destroyed her kidneys. She has been deported back to ghana (because of the expired visa), the UK government have offered to pay for three months treatement for her in a ghanian hospital. The ghanian hospital is refusing any treatment because she does not have funding for her long term care. What do you think of this? more

Resolved Question: ?This is just one case, and the tip of a massive iceberg?

Exactly how the “student” visa swindle works has been revealed with the deportation of a Ghanaian woman who came to the UK five years ago, first as a tourist and who then claimed to be a “student.” Ama Sumani (pictured) stayed on to sponge NHS treatment in Cardiff, despite that treatment being available in her home country. Sumani, 39 years-old, was taken by immigration officers from a Cardiff hospital where she has been receiving dialysis for a year after cancer damaged her kidneys. Although she claimed she would not be able to get the care in Ghana, a spokesman for that country’s high commission in London said the country had two fully-equipped hospitals in Accra and further north in Kumasi. As a member of the Ghana national health insurance scheme she would still receive treatment, the spokesman added. Sumani first came to the UK as a visitor in 2003, but then changed her status to student and attempted to enrol on a banking course at a city college, her solicitor explained. Her lack of English prevented her from pursuing the course and she went to find work which contravened her student visa. In 2005 she returned to Ghana to attend a memorial service for her dead husband. But when she came back to the UK, her student visa was revoked and she was only given temporary admission which effectively meant she was given notice she would be removed, her solicitor said. She did not keep in touch with immigration officials and was first taken ill in January 2006. She is being removed from the country rather than deported because of her expired visa which means she has no legal status in the UK. A removal means that in theory she could apply to return to the UK in the future more

Resolved Question: Would you like to sign a petition to the PM to help kidney dialisys patients ?

The British Kidney Foundation has an E-Petition at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Dialysis/ Dialysis patients dialyse three days a week for the rest of their life until they die. These patients cannot undertake work that takes them away from their Dialysis unit, have a holiday, attend family celebrations ( weddings, baptisms etc ) or visit friends or relatives. They call on the prime Minister to provide sufficient spare capacity in Dialysis units around the country to enable patients to move between units. This would dramatically improve what is currently a poor and restricted quality of life. After all the Prime Minister puts high value on his holiday - he should not deny patients the same basic human right. more
